If you are planning on attending a post-secondary institution, then you must complete a request from Student Transcript Services to have your transcript sent the requested schools.
You will need your PEN# (Personal Education Number) before you begin. You can locate your PEN # on your report card or ask for it in the Career Centre or school office.
Step 1:
You must register for a BC Government account, a BCeID. Follow the prompts and register for STS.
Step 2:
Now log in to Student Transcript Services using the BCeID.
Step 3:
From the student's STS Dashboard make your post-secondary institution selections, view transcripts, view assessment results and send interim transcripts.
All university applications will be available on line by October each year. Apply early as some institutions accept students on a first applied, first registered basis. Early acceptance means an earlier registration date...this means you have a better chance of getting the courses that you want and not be on a waiting list.

- Your registration date is vital to getting the classes that you want. Typically, the earlier the application, the earlier the acceptance and the earlier the registration date and time. This means that you must be ready to register for your courses the date and time that you have been allotted.
- Designing a schedule your first year, can feel like a big challenge. You must consider high school and university prerequisites, courses dates and times and how a semester all fits together. Do you prefer night classes vs. morning classes? Do you feel prepared to take a full course load (5 courses/semester) or are you considering taking some courses during Spring and Summer session to alleviate the stress in the Fall/Winter session. It's all up to you!
- When choosing courses remember that you as a student are a consumer. You often have the ability to choose courses that fit your style of learning and specific interests. You have a few days at the beginning of the semester to try a course and if it isn't the right fit, drop it for a full refund before a specific date. Make sure to make a note of this date in your calendar! It is different for different institutions.
- When planning your schedule, consider second choices in case your class is full at the time of registration. The great thing is in first year many students attend a class in the first week and then drop it. Even if you are 10th or more on the waitlist, go to the first class and identify yourself to the instructor. They will let you know if they can add you to the class. Sometimes they may ask you to attend one or more classes before they can give you a final answer. In most cases, you will be offered a seat if you have taken the time to attend. If it's a course that you really need, or are passionate about, you can advocate for a seat directly through the college/university instructor.
